Camping and cottages

The camping site in Grímsey island is located by the Community house Múlí which also serves as the school in Grímsey. On the campsite is an outhouse with toilets and basins with hot and cold water

The camping site at Hamrar, is just south of the town, right next to Kjarnaskógur wood. The camping site is normally open from the beginning of June until the middle of September. The area offers good service facilities, beautiful surroundings, play grounds and activity areas.

The camping site at Þórunnarstræti, is located centrally in the town, close by the main swimming pool Akureyrarlaug. The camping is normally open from the beginning of June until the end of August. The area offers good service facilities, walking distance to the city centre and a play ground.

Cottages in Akureyri (Sæluhús Akureyri) are located within a walking distance from the centre of Akureyri. They offer five cottages, each about 78 square meters, with three bedrooms that can accommodate up to seven persons.
