Akureyri Backpackers is a brand new hostel located in the heart of the Akureyri, on the main shopping street “Göngugatan”. We have 23 rooms for over a hundred travelers. Our dorms are 4, 6 and 8 bedded and our private rooms host 2-3 persons. Choose between bringing your own sleeping bag or renting a duvet wrapped in a cozy cover. All our beds come with a clean sheet and a pillow. Toilets are located on every floor and warm showers are accessible 24 hours a day. Kitchen and BBQ facilities are also available. On the ground floor you will find our travel hub, tourist information center and bistro/bar where you can enjoy our meals or have a drink.

Akureyri’s hottest restaurants, bars and coffee shops are located within 2 minutes walking distance and the swimming pool of Akureyri with its relaxing hot tubs is less then 500 m away. For the culture buffs, the theatre is located on the same street and one of Iceland’s most famous live music bars, “The green hat” is right next door.
