An excellent café right on the town square. Disco music at nights during weekends.

At weekends, the coffee house changes its image and becomes one of the hottest night spots in town. On offer are both live music and discotheque. Age limit: Twenty years and visitors must be well dressed.

Pósthúsbarinn is a nice and cosy nightclub for 22 years and older.  A lounge bar is located within the nightclub.

Sjallinn nightclub is a place of entertainment which offers both live music and discotheque.

The new nightclub is at the old house of Vélsmiðjann which is located in the center of Akureyri. The new owners are aiming to have live music every Saturday night. They focus on a broad group of people, and will have different age limits depending on what bands are playing.
