The Brugghúsbar is a small but cosy bar in the center of town. It main focus is on beer, brewn locally by the Brewery Kaldi, as well as on a big selection on strong alcohol, coffee and soda.

Götubarinn Bar (The Street Bar) is a charming bar in the centre of Akureyri. The interiors and the basic look make a reference to the old Akureyri. Götubarinn has a big selection of beers.

At weekends, the coffee house changes its image and becomes one of the hottest night spots in town. On offer are both live music and discotheque. Age limit: Twenty years and visitors must be well dressed.

Pósthúsbarinn is a nice and cosy nightclub for 22 years and older.  A lounge bar is located within the nightclub.

Sjallinn nightclub is a place of entertainment which offers both live music and discotheque.
