Grímsey - Solstice Festival

The inhabitants of Grímsey, Iceland’s northernmost inhabited island and the only part of the country that lies above the Arctic Circle, will celebrate the summer solstice from 21st to 24th June with a festival, offering visitors a chance to participate in the celebrations.

In 2019 the Solstice Festival in Grímsey will be held 21st to 24th June.

Experience extreme beauty on the Island of Grímsey and along with the midnight sun watch thousands of puffins in flight and nesting. Grímsey has one of the larges puffin colonies in Iceland.
