Midsummer Night this year (2019) is celebrated during the weekend of 22nd to the 23rd of June. In Iceland this day is called Jónsmessa named after John the Baptist. According Icelandic folklore many strange things happens during Midsummer Night e.g. the cows gain the power to speech and seals can become human.

In Akureyri this day is celebrated with various events, some relating to old traditions and folklore.

Brothers Markús og Birkir Bjarnasons are Omotrack the band. They were raised in a small village in Ethiopia called Omo Rate, hence the bands name. They play electro-indie, electro-pop and electro-rock.
