Flights- direct
There are direct flights once a week between Akureyri and Denmark (Copenhagen) during summer (june - august). New for the summer 2010 a flight once a week will be offered between Gatwick (London) and Akureyri, with the airline Iceland Express www.icelandexpress.com.
Flights - Keflavik international Airport
Three airlines offer scheduled routes from several destinations from Europe and USA, see list below.
To travel further from the Keflavik International Airport you can take a cab/taxi or a flybus to the domestic airport in Reykjavik (45 minutes) and fly with AirIceland to Akureyri (45 minutes) www.airiceland.is

The International Airport Keflavik is situated in the southwestern part of the country, only a 45 minute drive from the capital Reykjavik.
Ferry
