The Akureyri concert band was founded in 1942 and has been a treasured part of the community in Akureyri playing at various occasions. The members of the band have studied music for shorter or longer time and some are even professional musicians who generously contribute their time to this community project. But all have in common a deep passion for wind music and strive to play with the band whenever possible.
