Visit Akureyri is responsible for marketing and promoting the Municipality of Akureyri, which includes Akureyri town and the islands Grímsey and Hrisey in North Iceland. 

The municipality has about 19,000 inhabitants and serves as the cultural and commercial hub of North Iceland.

Visit Akureyri supports and organizes cultural events, including the Summer Art Festival and Akureyri Town Festival, and assists with promotion and know-how for other events.
