A project about buildings in Akureyri and animals that live in Iceland

Students in the Kindergarten Kidagil in Akureyri are working on projects related to the environment, buildings and animals that live in Iceland.

Students at Engjarós, who were born in 2018, are working on a theme about Akureyri. They have visit some buildings, looked at books and talked about which buildings and statues are in the town. They are going to make buildings out of clay and various other materials. They are going to do their houses, the town hall, the swimming pool, Hlíðarfjall and Hof.

Students at Smári, who were born in 2019, are working on a theme about animals that live in Iceland. They started by looking at what they knew about the animals in Iceland and have then discussed one animal per week, received education about them and worked on projects related to them, e.g. create them from all kinds of materials such as paper, egg trays, toilet rolls and more. Then the students are going to make their favorite animal out of clay.
