Opportunities for outdoor activities are numerous. There are various hiking trails in and around the town, visit Kjarnaskóg where there are great playgrounds, sledge slops and fun hiking trails. There is always plenty to do in Hlíðarfjall , ski down the slopes, do snowboards or cross-country skis. Mountain skiing is also popular and there are many options in the area.
