Hotel Kjarnalundur is a 66 room hotel, only 3,5 km from downtown Akureyri. The hotel offers a pleasant and relaxing environment with a unique setting in terms of outdoor enjoyment, health and well-being. The surrounding environment allows our guests the possibility to be refreshed by the Icelandic nature as the hotel is located on the edge of Kjarnaskógur, which is one of the most popular outdoor areas in Akureyri.

The rooms range in size from 12m² to 25m², giving our guests affordable options. A suite is comprised of a sitting room, bedroom and bathroom.

In the restaurant guests can enjoy breakfast and dinner buffet. Dinner buffet need to be booked with reservation. The hotel offers total 2 halls, both halls are great for meetings and banquets, for total 170 people, open all year around.

Our guests have free access to the hot tub and infrared sauna. It is also possible to book a massage.

The building has an elevator and handicapped access to all four floors. There are 6 rooms specially designed for wheelchair access.

Free Wi-Fi is in the hotel. 

In the woodlands of Kjarnaskógur, directly above the hotel, are hiking trails, volleyball courts and playground equipment for children. There is also a specially designed mountain biking track. The walking paths for skiers are plowed in winter.
