Mjólkurbúðin is run by The Visual Artists Society (Myndlistarfélagið) in Akureyri. The Gallery is the residence of the Society but also serves the purpose as a showroom where the policy is to exhibit the latest trend in the field of visual arts as well as to focus on young, undiscovered artists and their works. The size of the exhibition space is 9x4 meters and it has a large windows at the entrance side that make exhibitions visible in all hours.
