The “Pollamót” is an annual sporting event held by Icelandair and Þór football club at the beginning of July. It is a football tournament for adult people who want to show they haven’t lost their touch. Both men and women compete in the tournament, in age groups of 30+, 40+, and 45+ for men, and 20+ and 30+ for the women.
The tournament takes place at the Þór football grounds in Akureyri.
Last year around 50 men’s teams signed up and about 10 women’s teams making the tournaments participants around 600 people.
The tournament will be held from the 5th-6th July in 2024.
