Around Lunchtime
In recent years, I have wondered what impact thinking, food, and exercise have on each individual's existence. We are told to live a healthy life, eat healthily, exercise, and think positively. However, we all struggle with all kinds of things, whether mental or physical, current or external circumstances that we cannot control. However, the basic thing is to nourish ourselves.
From making decisions about cooking, to the act of eating, to digestion, and finally the release of the body, our minds and bodies are getting ready for nourishment. It is said that digestion begins as soon as we see the food on the plate, and colors, composition, and presentation are of great importance, even to the point that cooking is considered an art form. But everyone's everyday life is often about cooking and eating simple or quick dishes. Some of us have a choice about what kind of food we eat, others have no choice, and still others have to take into account allergies or diseases.
It is remarkable how a diet can keep down the symptoms of diseases and how much it affects daily well-being and the balance in the body. We also analyze how the body has processed the food from the stool.
In the past, it was quite common to examine stool in the toilet to analyze the health of individuals and toilets were specially designed with a sill to facilitate this. Nowadays, we prefer not to know or see. All waste from our bodies is considered disgusting and not for examination unless it is in the case of infants.
After much introspection, both mentally and physically, I decided to do a research project on my situation around lunchtime for 30 days. I struggle with a disease that requires me to eat or not eat certain foods. I am also very interested in cooking and arranging my plate beautifully, and have done many performances over the years that are precisely about nutrition. But I also need to monitor the effect that food has on my well-being and how it returns the next day to the toilet. So I took pictures of my lunch and about 24 hours later of my bowel movements between February 14 and March 15, 2025.
A total of sixty pictures that I decided to implement with pencil drawings and frame in a white
frame as a symbol for the dinner plate on the one hand and the toilet on the other.

At the exhibition opening in Kaktus on June 27th at 12:00, there will be a participatory event where guests will be invited to assemble a lunch on a plate and take a picture and then eat.

Everyone is welcome to experience and see and eat
