There’s nothing quite like a beautiful rendition of a great poem. Poetry enthusiasts should not miss the poetry hour with actor Arnar Jónsson in the living room of Davíðshús on Saturday, January 18, at 2:00 PM, and Sunday, January 19, at 5:00 PM.

Arnar is one of Iceland's most cherished actors and has earned acclaim for his unique performances of poetry over the years. “A poem finds its way to its audience, and it certainly found me. Poetry found me at a very young age. The music of language resonates in poetry—along with thought and emotion,” says Arnar. He will recite poems that have touched him throughout his life and share stories about how they are connected to his personal journey.

This event marks the beginning of the anniversary year of Davíð Stefánsson from Fagriskógur, who was born 130 years ago on January 21. Arnar also inaugurated the centennial celebration 30 years ago.
