One of the most popular compositions of the 20th century, The Planets by Gustaf Holst, performed in its entirety with a narrator and a slide show in Hofi.

Astronomer Sævar Helgi Bragason guides the audience through the history of the planets, and impressive footage will be projected during the musical performance.

Gustaf Holst was a big fan of astronomy and in this composition he imitates the characteristics of the planets as he experienced them. The sensational mood of these works has had a great influence on film music, and composers such as John Williams and Howard Shore have clearly been influenced by Holst and his Planets in their works, for example in Star Wars and Lord of the Rings.

At the concert, Stjörnu-Sævar guides the listener through the sky under the performance of the Norðurland Symphony Orchestra of this one of the most popular and elegant orchestral works of the 20th century. New and amazing footage from outer space will be projected during the musical performance.
