Iceland against genocide

Iceland against genocide

Protest for Palestine

For nearly two years, people around the world have watched in horror as civilians in Palestine endure unbearable suffering – a genocide that now appears to be reaching its peak.

The United Nations has declared the fifth and highest level of famine, entirely man-made through Israel’s destruction of farmland in Gaza and its blockade preventing food from reaching civilians. According to the latest figures, 83% of those killed by Israel are civilians. Among them are at least 18,500 children – about 28 every single day, the equivalent of a full classroom. Just when we think the situation cannot get worse, it does. Israel’s war crimes must be stopped.

National labor unions, trade unions, humanitarian organizations, professional associations, and other groups have joined forces to organize protests across Iceland. Together, we demand that the Icelandic government take real and immediate action against the genocide.

We reject genocide and Israel’s violations of international law. The time for statements is over – the time for action has come.

Join us at Ráðhústorg on September 6th at 2 PM to demand immediate action from the Icelandic government against the genocide!
