WELCOME TO THE RELEASE EVENING!

A new Akureyri album will be released on Saturday, December 6!

The album is Í ísbúð / Radość życia. It features music by Steinunn Arnbjörg Stefánsdóttir. Performers are Corpo di Strumenti and (N)ICEGIRLS, specifically Helena Guðlaug Bjarnadóttir, Sigrún Magna Þórsteinsdóttir, Brice Sailly, and Steinunn herself. Most of the poems are by Steinunn, with additional poems by siblings Mahaut Ingiríður and Ísólf Raymond Matharel. Julia Wakesho translated the poem Mbarikiwe kijijini kwangu, and Lidia Kołosowska served as the Polish language consultant. Kristján Edelstein handled the recording and mixing, Haukur Pálmason did the mastering, and Kristjana Katla Ragnarsdóttir designed the cover and booklet.

On this occasion — and in celebration of the composer’s 44th baptism anniversary and Finland’s 107th Independence Day — you are invited to a release event:

Saturday, December 6 at Kaktus, 22:00–23:00
…and who knows, the evening may well continue a bit longer.

Light refreshments, musical and poetic samples, and a warm celebration of this national-day-birthday-album-release atmosphere will be offered.
