The first easyJet flight of the 2026–2027 winter season landed at Akureyri Airport on Saturday, 3 October, bringing the airline’s seasonal connection between the UK and North Iceland back into operation.
The London Gatwick–Akureyri route launched in 2023, while the Manchester connection followed in 2024. Since then, the routes have provided visitors with direct access to North Iceland during the winter months, while offering residents of the region convenient connections to the UK.
This winter, flights between Akureyri and London operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The Manchester route operates on Mondays and Fridays, meaning international flights are available from Akureyri Airport on four days each week.

There is one exception to the Manchester schedule over Christmas: the flight will operate on Thursday, 24 December, instead of Friday, 25 December.
Additional international connections are also expected after the New Year, with Transavia and Edelweiss scheduled to introduce flights linking Akureyri with Amsterdam and Zurich.
With easyJet’s winter services now underway, North Iceland continues to welcome visitors from the UK, offering access to its spectacular landscapes, northern lights, geothermal experiences and winter adventures.
