Hafnarstræti 75 in Akureyri — the new building of Hotel Akureyri — has been voted Most Beautiful New Building of 2025 in a public poll by Arkitektúruppreisnin in Iceland (The Architecture Uprising).

Five buildings were nominated, and Hafnarstræti 75 received nearly 40% of the 5,755 votes cast, winning the title by a clear margin.

Arkitektúruppreisnin is an independent, non-political forum focused on the future of architecture in Iceland, advocating for beautiful, human-scale and traditional architectural alternatives in modern development.
