The 'Súlur Vertical' Mountain Trail run is an annual event in Akureyri since 2016, and this year's run is scheduled for August 2nd to 4th, 2024.

Participants can choose from four distances: 100km, 43km, 28km, and 18km. The shorter races begin in the scenic Kjarnaskógur forest, while the challenging 100km race starts at the majestic Godafoss waterfall. All races culminate in the vibrant city center of Akureyri.
