The Akureyri New Year’s bonfire will be held on open ground just south of the Jaðar golf clubhouse (at the same location as last year).
The bonfire will be lit at 8:30 PM on New Year’s Eve 
The attached aerial photo below, shows the bonfire area, parking areas and walking paths.
The annual fireworks show will take place on the cliffs north of Pálmholt Kindergarten and will start at around 9:00 PM 
The show is organised by the Súlur Rescue Team and is sponsored by them and Akureyri Car Rental / Europcar.
Please use fireworks responsibly and remember to clean up after yourself. Fireworks waste must not go into regular household trash.
Special containers will be placed by store Bónus in Naustahverfi and Bónus by Langholt, and at the recycling station north of the Town Hall.
