Súlur Vertical will take place on 31 July – 1 August 2026. The event has been held since 2016 and has become one of Iceland’s leading trail running events, set in the spectacular landscapes of Akureyri and its surroundings.
Four distances are offered – 19 km, 29 km, 43 km and 100 km, with the longest race starting at Goðafoss waterfall. All races finish in the centre of Akureyri. Selected distances offer ITRA points for international trail running rankings.
A kids’ run will also be held in Kjarnaskógur – a family-friendly event for young runners.
