In Akureyri, you can find unique “trash monsters” along the path from the town center to the old town. These unusual outdoor artworks are created by artist Jonna Jónborg Sigurðardóttir and have decorated the town’s trash bins during the past few summers.
The artworks have brought joy to both locals and visitors, becoming especially popular photo subjects for tourists who have eagerly shared them on social media.
This particular trash monster can be found in Innbærinn (the old town) in Akureyri.
