Akureyri's most perilous cultural event!

Mannfólk breytist í slím is the most perilous cultural event in Akureyri, never taking place in the same location twice. The festival has been held annually since 2018 by the art collective MBS and has few parallels in the cultural landscape.

Mannfólk breytist í slím  is dedicated to underground and grassroots culture, with a special focus on local artists. The festival is primarily devoted to music, but there is also a tradition of combining performance art with musical acts, as well as works that blur the lines between the two art forms.

One of the project’s main goals is to establish a strong, off-mainstream cultural festival in Akureyri, one that will strengthen the region’s artistic life in the long term and create opportunities for young artists to perform alongside more experienced ones.
