The Christmas Market is located at the Town Hall Square (Ráðhústorg) and opens annually around the first weekend of Advent. It is open every weekend leading up to Christmas. At the Christmas Market, there are decorated Christmas huts where various holiday-themed goods are sold. The square is beautifully decorated, with Christmas music and a bonfire, along with regular events and live music. It’s a great way to get into the Christmas spirit in the lead-up to the holidays.
A call for vendors for the Christmas huts will be announced in September. Applications are submitted through the service portal at www.akureyri.is
