With a schedule that starts every whole hour from Hof, for the time large cruise ships are in town, you can enjoy a 45 minute long ride with 11 stops that you can hop on and hop off at any point. They include, among others, the pier Oddeyrarbryggja, downtown, the church, botanical gardens, the old town (by  Akureyri Museum). This tour will give you a good overview of the town. The bus usually starts running at 9 am, with the 1st stop beeing by the pier Oddeyrarbryggja.
