There are several places in Akureyri where you can enjoy a sauna. Saunas are available at the Akureyri Geothermal Pool, Glerárlaug Geothermal Pool, in various wellness centers, at the Forest Lagoon, and in the mobile Saunawagon.

Sánugusa is a wonderful experience that consists of three 15-minute sauna sessions in a cozy heat (80°C), with cooling breaks in between—either outside in the fresh Icelandic air or with a refreshing dip in the sea!
Your Gusmaster will guide the session by playing soothing music, pouring water infused with essential oils onto the wood stove-heated stones, and creating airflow using a towel and fan to enhance the experience. During the breaks, we offer salty snacks, fresh fruit, and water to keep you refreshed.
Mæjas Saunamobil is located at the club house of Siglingaklúbburinn Nökkvi, where you can store your belongings and use the showers. However, you are also welcome to arrive in your swimsuit and robe and shower at home afterward.
