On Thursday 23 February, Dr. Hulda Sædís Bryngeirsdóttir, nurse and adjunct lecturer at the University of Akureyri, presents the results of her doctoral research which she defended at HA at the end of last year.
The presentation will take place at the Bakery House in the shopping center at Sunnuhlíð and starts at 16:00.
In the study, Icelandic told women about the ways they used to get stronger and stronger (post-traumatic growth) after being subjected to intimate partner violence. They also described the growth they experienced. Violence in intimate relationships is so common that it has been likened to a pandemic. It is therefore important to consider what will happen to victims after such relationships have ended.
The Bakery-Lectures are a collaborative project between the Akureyri Academy and the Akureyri Bakery House. Their goal is to present projects that people have worked on at AkAk, offer events in Sunnuhlíð and give the townspeople the opportunity to learn and talk about a wide range of subjects.
Everyone is most welcome!
