Have you heard the expression "once in a blue moon"? It refers to a rare and mystical event. Since seeing the moon is a rarity during Icelandic summers, we decided to honor it by creating a unique, mystical experience blending original music, performance art, and visual art. Stefán Elí (from Akureyri) and Esha Fae (from Australia) are multidisciplinary artists who work in music and visual arts while traveling the globe.
Upon arrival, guests are treated to a delicious organic cacao drink, while copal and frankincense resins are burned to cleanse the energy and bless the space. The music is diverse and dynamic, featuring a blend of pop, R&B, sound healing, indie, and rap. They are joined by Rósa María Stefánsdóttir, who performs Icelandic melodies and heartfelt songs.
Following the performance, guests are invited to a special market showcasing handmade goods from around the world—collected during the artists' travels—alongside their own artwork and self-designed clothing. Esha and Stefán run the clothing brand and website "Sacred Swag," where they print their own paintings and graphic designs onto various garments and sell guided meditations, music, paintings, and more. Both have traveled extensively in recent years and regularly perform their music abroad. They have forged connections with locals in various places—such as Peru and Guatemala—and collaborate to offer textiles and woven goods from those regions. The garments are woven from alpaca wool, sheep's wool, and cotton; these items will be available at the market.
Stefán Elís’s artwork has been very well received in recent years, with his paintings finding their way into homes across the Eyjafjörður region, elsewhere in Iceland, and in various other countries. His latest works will be on display both as part of the performance and at the market.
The goal of the event is to unite cultures from different corners of the globe and celebrate diversity and beauty.
