Library for Everyone - exhibition
An exhibition of libraries for everyone made from Lego blocks.
In March, children from the 6th grade at Brekkuskóli and Naustakóli visited the library. They were taught about the library and the importance of the library being a place for everyone where everyone can be on equal terms.
The children were given the task of building a library for everyone out of Lego blocks. They had to keep in mind the different needs of individuals, such as the needs of people in wheelchairs or people with autism, dyslexia, color blindness and more. Their ideas are now on display in the lobby of the library and will be there until April 30th.
Please come and see the libraries of the future.
The project is based on the ideas of Build The Change, a project run by Lego.
We encourage you to attend the event in an environmentally friendly manner. Akureyri bus system is free and all buses stop in the city center 300 meters from the library.
