Christmas is Coming Soon – The Christmas Adventure at Hafnarstræti 88

Where the magic of Christmas quietly spreads and creates true holiday peace.

The window at Brynja’s studio at Hafnarstræti 88 becomes a true Christmas adventure in December.

Step inside a home from the early 20th century. The household has gone to rest, and the magic of Christmas gently spreads across the town. A starry sky illuminates the surroundings, shiny red apples wait in a bowl, freshly baked flatbread and slices of smoked lamb rest on a plate, and cats sleep peacefully on their beds. The scene is decorated with colorful mouse figurines, gingerbread houses, and a homemade Christmas tree.

The window at Hafnarstræti 88 is a creation by sisters Brynja Harðardóttir Tveiten, an artist, and Áslaug Harðardóttir Tveiten, who runs the decorative gift shop Fröken Blómfríður. The display is a perfect destination for walking tours or visits, designed to brighten the environment, encourage passersby to pause during their busy day, and create joy, warmth, and closeness.
