This is a cinematic love letter to a struggling community as they live through a seasonal cycle on the tiny arctic island of Grímsey, 60km north
of Iceland in the Greenland Sea. Once a thriving community for over 800 years, in recent years it has begun a seemingly terminal decline, as people leave, facilities are closed and climate changes bites.
Then one fateful night, their church burned down in a storm. The rebuilding then became a focus, as a symbol of resilience. We capture stories
from different generations, and learn about their loves, their losses and their beautiful determination to hang on in the face of inevitable
progress.
