The Aviation Museum celebrates the fact that 100 years have passed since the first flight to Iceland

On August 2, 1924, the first airplane flew to Iceland.

On August 2, 1924, the first airplane flew to Iceland. To celebrate the milestone of 100 years since that momentous event took place, the Aviation Museum is opening an exhibition and Örninn, the museum's loyal association, is offering visitors and pedestrians a waffle coffee while supplies last. The squadron will have their aircraft on site and will perform aerobatics weather permitting. Admission is free, but children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

At 15:00-17:00 - Open house and waffle coffee while supplies last.

At 15:30 - Opening of the exhibition. Museum director Steinunn María Sveinsdóttir gives a short talk about the 1924 global flight and the arrival of the first flying airplane to Iceland.

At 16:00 - The squadron will have their aircraft on site and will perform aerobatics if the weather permits.
