Brynja presents new oil and acrylic paintings that combine her own words, handwriting, and painting. The works are rich in colour and have simple compositions, repeating the phrase "Við erum öll fylling í tilveruna." As the words are written over and over, they merge, fade and dissolve blurring the line between text and image.

The paintings explore Brynja's reflections on the cycle of life and our connection to nature. They speak of how we are all part of something larger than ourselves, beyond time and space, life and death. The painting process and its repetition become a quiet mantra—a source of reflection, comfort and reassurance. Although the traces we leave behind fade over time, we always remain part of the whole.

This is Brynja's eighth solo exhibition. She has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, most recently Hédna, presented by the Visual Artists Society in Akureyri (Myndlistarfélagið) and currently on view at Hof Cultural Centre.

Brynja Harðardóttir Tveiten (b. 1971) studied at the Akureyri School of Visual Arts in Iceland and at Örebro Art School in Sweden. For many years, she worked in education and public health alongside her artistic practice before dedicating herself fully to art in 2022. Since then, she has been working in her studio and art space at Hafnarstræti 88 in Akureyri.
