This year marks 30 years since Bjarni E. Guðleifsson organized the first Þorvaldsdalsskokk. To celebrate, FFA offers a walk through the valley on the same day as the race. We drive to Fornhaga in Hörgárdal and cars are left there, a bus takes the participants to the starting point. Walk through the valley and to Stærra-Árskógskirkja where a bus will be waiting for walkers and take them back to the cars at Fornhaga. The path through the valley is long and beautiful, you walk over two massive rock formations, Hestahraun and Hrafnagilshraun. On the way, the runners of the day will no doubt overtake the group, and then there is reason to be encouraged.
