Magnús is the AI ​​Project Manager at the University of Akureyri, where he leads the policy development and implementation of the responsible use of technology. He led work on the first comprehensive AI policy of an Icelandic university and has built systems such as Gjöll.is for fire prevention and, in collaboration with Dr. Tom Barry, the Arctic Tracker for research on conservation measures for animal species in the Arctic.
Before Magnús turned to technology, he worked for 16 years as an ambulance driver and firefighter. This experience shapes his approach: focusing on what works in real life, not just on paper.
