Drive up to Víkurskarð and hike through Hrossadalur, south of the pass, including a visit to the remains of an old sheep pen. The hike then continues along the valley as weather and conditions allow, before returning to Víkurskarð where the cars will be waiting. The terrain is grassy with shrubs and somewhat uneven, so hiking poles are recommended.
