The hike starts from the summer house Seli and follows a southern route up to the peak.

Drive to Öngulstaðir 4 and then on to the summer house Seli. The hike heads south up to Haus, where there is a cairn, and continues along the mountain across easy terrain, keeping to the eastern side of the peak. From there, the route climbs the northeastern ridge of the mountain up to the summit. The views from the top are extensive across the surrounding district.
