On Visitors’ Day, scout groups offer entertainment, food tastings, games, and much more connected to their hometowns, countries, or cultures. Visitors’ Day is open to everyone.
The Icelandic Scout Association invites scouts from around the world to the National Jamboree in summer 2026. The event will take place from July 20–26, with the theme “In the Arctic.” Join us and experience adventure in the beautiful surroundings of Hamrar.
The National Jamboree is for scouts aged 10–17. It is the highlight of the scouting year, where we welcome international participants and spend a full week together. More than 2,000–3,000 scouts from around 20 countries will gather at the event.
The Jamboree creates a true world of adventure. Each scout group builds its own campsite, where participants live together for a week. It is a rewarding challenge, and many step outside their comfort zones when attending a camp for the first time and staying in tents with others.
Scouts have the opportunity to meet diverse people and form new friendships. Scout camps are a cornerstone of scouting, offering a chance to develop leadership skills and creativity. In nature, scouts can connect with their surroundings and themselves. Together, we take on challenges that build confidence, responsibility, and knowledge.
