The paintings of Sigurður P Högnason

Visions
A Painting Exhibition by Sigurður P. Högnason

The solo painting exhibition by Sigurður Pétur Högnason opens on Friday, March 14, at 14:00 in Deiglan, the hall of the Gil Society.

Sigurður Pétur has lived in Hrísey for the past 20 years, where he dedicates himself to his art, maintaining both a studio and an exhibition space. "I have a creative energy that I need to activate every day, and I find joy and fulfillment in sharing my work with others. I listen to music while I paint, and some have said that the music can be seen in some of my works."

Sigurður took courses in watercolor painting and figure drawing with Guðmundur Ármann at the Akureyri School of Visual Arts. Additionally, he studied at Arnar Ingi’s Art School in Akureyri from 1997 to 1999. Since 1997, Sigurður has been painting, mainly using oil and acrylic paints. His work is diverse, including portraits, abstract pieces, rock formations, and landscapes. This exhibition marks his first solo show.

The exhibition will be open on March 15, 16, 21, 22, and 23 from 16:00 to 18:00.
