What is humour? What functions does it have? Why can’t we live without it? Why are people laughing at the wrong parts of my jokes? An international gathering of scholars, artists, and comedians is going to be held at Akureyri’s Municipal Library, in connection with the launch of a new book series for Canada’s Northwest Passage Books, authored by Giorgio Baruchello (University of Akureyri). Among others, there will convene (and perform) Andrew Loman (Memorial University of Newfoundland), Brendan Myers (CEGEP Heritage College), Ívar Helgason, Mikael M. Karlsson (University of Iceland), Nanna Ýr Árnadóttir (University of Akureyri), Nikola Tutek (University of Rijeka) and Villi Vandræðaskáld. Talks, comedic readings, and a discussion open to the public will unfold in an informal and well-catered atmosphere: Let’s have some fun!
