A walk up to Botnsvatn near Húsavík, with a loop around the lake.

We drive to Húsavík. The walk follows a hiking path on the mountain known as the Blue Mountain, Húsavíkurfjall. The route goes up to Botnsvatn and loops around the lake on a comfortable trail. From there, the path continues down along the river and through the Botanical Garden (Skrúðgarðurinn). A very scenic route.
The hike takes 2–3 hours. After the main walk, those who wish may continue with the guide to Gatklettur at Bakki.
