Holiday market

A holiday market in the oldest house in town. Exhibition and various artwork for sail, big and small, perfect as a holiday present.

A holiday market in the oldest house in town. Visual artist Jónína Björg will show and have for sale various artwork by herself, big and small, perfect as a holiday present. There will also be some small food items for sale, like roasted almonds, homemade jams and more. Come for a visit, meet the artist and see the oldest house in town.

In the house called Laxdalshús, visual artist Jónína Björg has her artist studio and also runs, along with her husband, Magnús Jón Magnússon, a pop up restaurant called Majó - Food and Culture (opening days advertised on
www.majoiceland.com).

All four Sundays of Advent, Jónína will open up her doors to hold a Holiday market, with an emphasis on art. Her studio will be open and artwork all around, big and small. Jónína’s art is mostly oil paintings and printmaking, all figurative art where the woman is the central figure. Colourful and honest work with a hint of humour.

In addition to the artwork, there will be some of the more seasonal things done at Majó, roasted almonds, biscotti and other things that are perfect for a little nibble on a Sunday afternoon. All are welcome for a visit.
