“I want tourists to see me and ask: ‘Where is Hallgrímskirkja?’”
NB in icelandic!
A rapper from Vesturbær, a former footballer from Garðabær and a musician from downtown Reykjavík join forces for an entertaining and refreshingly candid show. Davíð Þór, Jónmundur and Unnsteinn have one thing in common: they are all Icelandic through and through, while also tracing their roots to two different continents.
In this honest and personal show, they share their experiences of growing up in Iceland, bringing both side-splittingly funny and deeply serious moments from their own lives to the stage. The show offers an unexpected look at our society and provides new insight into the realities of a diverse Icelandic experience.
As they put it themselves: “If you want to enjoy life as a person of colour in Iceland, there’s no point expecting to live an ordinary life.”
