At the school concerts of the North Iceland Symphony Orchestra’s Circus Band in Hof on May 18 and 19, 2026, lively and entertaining music inspired by the magical sounds of the circus will be performed, including pieces from the animated film Dumbo, Entrance of the Gladiators, and Can-Can.

The circus director is none other than Margrét Eir. This is a child-friendly performance where the audience will have the opportunity to participate in the show, meet the musicians, and try out various instruments.

Special guests include students from the wind ensembles of the Akureyri Music School.

Sóley Björk Einarsdóttir is responsible for orchestral direction and arrangements.

The wind ensembles of the Akureyri Music School consist of wind and percussion students of all ages. The ensembles perform a wide variety of music and appear at many events in Akureyri. For example, their annual Halloween concerts have been a huge hit with the local community.

The Akureyri Brass Band has served and entertained the people of Akureyri for 80 years, providing many joyful moments and contributing to the festive atmosphere at numerous events during this time.

During special occasions, brass bands are often called upon, and their performances are considered indispensable for celebrations.
