Most people know the singers Erla Þorteins and Hauk Morthens, as they were the most popular singers in Iceland in the 20th century. Erla Þorsteins was one of the most beloved singers of the 20th century and was often called the girl with the lævirk voice, Haukur Morthens began his career at the age of 19 with Bjarna Böðvarsson's band, and then the nation acquired one of the most famous, beloved and well-known popular singers of all time.
