Children's art exhibition - Hidden people and folk creatures

Art exhibition on folk creatures made by 1st grade in Glerárskóli
On the occasion of the Children's Culture Festival in Akureyri and a conference on Hidden Folk in the local community, the 1st grade in Glerárskóli is putting up an art exhibition in the exhibition space of the Amtsbókasafn in Akureyri this April.

The children are 17 in total and are now learning about Icelandic elves, hidden people and other folk creatures from their tutor, Hólmfríður Guðnadóttir. They go on a guided tour of Huldustígur in Lystigarðurinn to get up close and personal with the folk creatures that live there. After learning about this hidden world of Iceland, they choose a creature to paint. The artworks will be on display from 6-30. April along with short interviews with the children about the creature.

April 6 at 12:00 the children invite everyone interested to the opening of the exhibition. There will be coffee and something sweet to eat. Be sure to stop by and say hello to the artists of the future.

We encourage you to attend the event in an environmentally friendly manner. The bus is free and all buses stop in the city center 300 meters from the museum
