A bus will pick up the group at Brúnastaðir.

We drive to Þverá in Ólafsfjörður. From there, the hike continues through Kvíabekkjardalur up to Ólafsfjarðarskarð (740 m). From the pass, there are excellent views down into Ólafsfjarðardalur, Fljótin, and Miklavatn. The route then descends the valley and ends at Brúnastaðir. This was formerly a well-traveled postal route between Ólafsfjörður and Fljót.
