First Young Writers’ Workshop Evening 2026. In Icelandic
The first Young Writers’ workshop evening will take place on Wednesday evening, March 18, at LYST in the Botanical Garden. This time, the instructor will be Margrét S. Höskuldsdóttir.
Margrét recently received Blóðdropinn, the Icelandic crime fiction award, for her book Lokar augum blám, which was published in autumn 2025. She has been surrounded by books since childhood and has a strong interest in literature and poetry. Writing a novel emerged in recent years, and her first novel, Dalurinn (The Valley), was published in the summer of 2022. Her second book, Í djúpinu (In the Depths), was released in 2024, and the translation rights have already been sold to Germany.
The evening is intended for young people aged 16–25 who are interested in creative writing, and participation is free of charge. It’s a great opportunity to learn something new, get to know the writing of others, and even read your own work aloud.
Refreshments will be provided for registered participants.
